Ok Girls, We've Got Work to Do!
writes, "Have you ever complimented someone on a great outfit only to hear them say, "This old thing?" How do they do it? How can some people re-vamp old pieces while looking right on trend? There's an art to it for sure. We all are more budget conscious these days so it's important that your Fall wardrobe dollars make an impact. As much as we don't want to look old and tired, neither should our wardrobe. To get started you’ll have to PURGE. An ugly word and a difficult thing to do, but you'll be glad once it's over."
A Critical Eye
Take a critical look at those oldies from past seasons and purge them if they don't look so good. It's better to have fewer pieces that are fabulous. Balled up stretched out sweaters? Goodbye! Long sleeve tee that has shrunk in length 4"? Goodbye to you too! The coat with the faux fur collar that is now matted? Yikes! So long sista!

Try It On
Put it on and get rid of it if it doesn't fit right. Some items will be worth altering, others won't. Too short? Get rid of it. Rises too high or too low? Get rid of it. Not flattering? Good riddance! The black wide-leg trouser that is too long? Hmmmm I'd say hem it and wear it during this great trouser season.

Be Objective
This may require a bottle of wine, a good friend and an honest opinion. What do you do with those pieces you haven't worn for a long time? You spent a lot of money on them, they are in-style, but you don't feel good in them and they just don't look that great on you. If you didn't wear it last year, you most likely won't wear it in the future. We already know the answer to this dilemma: Donate or consign, It'll make someone's day.

Give it Some Thought
People who always seem to look put-together (even in their old stuff) usually put some thought into it. Browse a magazine or go window shopping (preferably in your locally owned boutiques) and see what is happening on the fashion forefront. Then, think about your own pieces and how you can revive them.

Don't worry I won't leave you hanging...Next blog I will give you ideas on how to use your Fall wardrobe dollars to revive and refresh some of your clothing pieces that made the cut.
