Wearing Your Favorite Spring Trends |
rubylou writes, "Last month I highlighted some seasonal trends that I think are fun and worth delving into. I hope I piqued your interest and you are ready to jump in and try them out. "

1. Printed Denim
Why? Because just about every brand out there has some version of printed denim and let's face it, this trend won't last forever. So, have some fun with it NOW! If you are hesitant remember to keep it simple. Choose an animal print with a neutral pattern so that you can always pair them with black. If you go for a tie-dye or abstract print in a brighter color, white will always look good and keep the look pulled together. How easy was that?
2. Color Blocking
Like I mentioned before black and white is classic, and adding in another color to the mix is oh-so-easy. Think bright accessories or a bright shoe in red, fuchsia, yellow or royal blue. I also love color blocking with grey; grey/coral/cream or grey/yellow/cream are always good mixes. When you think about it you color block every day. This season it is just done in a more outspoken and purposeful way.
Colors to consider combining - use all or just two (it's up to you).

3. Crochet
Our favorite way to wear crochet is in a beachy way. I know...in Idaho? Yes! We love crochet paired with your favorite faded jeans, denim shorts, linen slouchy drawstrings or your favorite bright colored bottom. This trend is easy - it's when you try too hard that it can be trouble. All of a sudden you start looking like a camp counselor circa 1974. Try for pieces with clean, flattering lines. Too much fringe, pattern or color can take you to a very bad place.
4. Crop Tops
If you put on your crop top and have the urge to pair it with Reeboks and put a comb in your back pocket you need to try, try again. Think slightly oversized and slightly cropped...we aren't talking bra top. Think sophisticated necklines and be aware of the silhouette...we love this look with leggings and your favorite skinny jeans.
5. Bold Prints
If you are America's Next Top Model, by all means go for a head to toe look. Otherwise take it easy on the print. And think about where you want to put them. If you've got some back stay away from a bold printed bottom.
