Rice Krispy Snowman |
catie writes, "Our snowstorm this week left little time for playing in the snow. And with all the rain, it's tough to get outside. This food-craft is the perfect thing for kids and grownups who are feeling a bit snow-deprived. So turn on the fireplace and get your aprons on. It's time for a getting creative in the kitchen!"

Materials:
Rice Krispies
Marshmallows
Butter
Mini chocolate chips
Tiny carrot slivers
Fruit leather or red licorice
Leftover holiday ribbon
Paper mini muffin cup
1) Mix
Make Rice Krispy Treats according to package directions, but don't press them into bars. Leave them in the saucepan, and allow to cool for several minutes.
2) Shape
Give everyone's hands a generous coat of butter to prevent sticking, then shape 3 snowballs {large, medium, and small} to build your snowman.
3) Decorate
Add mini chocolate chips for eyes, a carrot sliver for a nose, and a thin piece of fruit leather or red licorice for a mouth. Tie on a scarf made from ribbon. Make a little hat from a paper mini muffin cup.
4) Eat
Fresh Rice Krispy Treats are hard to beat. Serve with a glass of milk, and keep your fingers crossed for more snow!
