Fabric Flower & Faux Fur Magnets
writes, "Rescue a few plastic caps from the recycle bin and make some fresh & furry magnets for your fridge or message board. These magnetic works of art should satisfy both flower girls and wild things."
Materials:
Plastic caps {from milk, water, and sports drinks bottles}
Strong magnets {available at the hardware store}
Glue {we used a hot glue gun}
Small amounts of fabric: Faux fur and Tshirt fabric

1) Magnetize
Glue magnets to the tops of your plastic caps.

2) Embellish With Fur
Using a "magnetized" plastic cap, trace a circle onto the back of your faux fur, then cut it out. Squeeze some glue into the center of the cap, then glue the fur to the inside the cap. One wild & wooly magnet, complete.

3) Embellish With Flowers
Grab another "magnetized" plastic cap. Find two coordinating colors of Tshirt fabric. Cut one color into a circle that is 3 - 4 inches in diameter {doesn't need to be a perfect circle}. Cut the other color into a long strip that is 1 inch wide and about 12 inches long {the bottom hem or neck ribbing work great}. Squeeze some glue into the center of the cap, then glue the center of your 3 - 4 inch circle to the inside of the cap. {Extra fabric from your circle will fold up and over the sides of the cap.} Next, take your long strip of fabric and roll it tightly into a rosette. Experiment until you get the flower shape you want, then glue it in the center of your fabric circle {in the center of the cap}. Voila! A magnet in bloom.

What else could you do with those magnetized plastic caps? Here are some more ideas for things to glue inside: buttons, tiny plastic animals, coins, ribbons, small game pieces, beads, silk flowers, sea shells.

*Please be sure you keep these magnets and all teeny-tiny things out of the reach of teeny-tiny people.
