Our Wheel of Life
writes, "This time of year is a good time to revisit our goals, and re-evaluate our wheel of life. "
I love this time of year. Mister Winter flirts with you in the morning - but by the afternoon the sun is high in the sky and warming the house. Last minute park trips with Violet, cleaning up the garden and picking the last of the fruit and vegetables. Preparing for the dark days and cold nights.

I am thinking that this is a good time to revisit our goals, and re-evaluate our wheel of life. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is an ongoing process involving many different components. Your wheel of life is much like a wheel on your bicycle, it has several spokes that hold it together. Let each spoke represent your Social health, Financial Health, Physical health, Psychological health, Intellectual health, Environmental and Spiritual health. If a spoke becomes damaged the wheel starts to wobble and the tires become worn.

Let's say you decide you are going to stop smoking, take up jogging and lose weight. This new program you have created starts to take away from your spiritual and social time. Although physical health is important, finding the balance in your wheel is the key. Think S.M.A.R.T.E.R. See below:

1. Simple: just adding that extra glass of water to your day is simple and achievable.
2. Manageable: Walking your dog around the block. Your dog will love you for it.
3. Attainable: Coach your child's baseball team - Family time and some exercise all in one afternoon.
4. Realistic: Bringing a sandwich to work so that you are not tempted to eat the chocolate brownies your co-worker brought in.
5. Time: Perhaps joining a walking group. We show up if friends are waiting on us.
6. Evaluate: Life is ever changing, goals are written in pencil so they can change too.
7. Reward: Eat, drink or do your favorite thing. You've came along way this week and you deserve it!

I have been blessed with the opportunity to write for everythingeagle.net and share my motivational tips. For over 15 years I have worked with individuals who have a variety of goals and intentions on improving their health and wellness. My motivation is to provide you with knowledge and information, so that you will be able to make optimal choices in creating a healthy lifestyle and improve your overall well being. I encourage our community to empower themselves to become knowledgeable in improving their healthy decisions. Please write me any time with your topic ideas or questions.
