Found Fabric Brooch
writes, "Satisfy your inner designer with this eco-friendly wearable work of art."
Materials:
Various fabrics and trims
Scissors
Sewing machine {or yarn to tie}
Buttons
Needle & thread {or hot glue gun}
A pin back {or just a safety pin}

1) Find Your Fabric
Look for bits of fabric you have around the house. I found 3 fabrics that were blue floral and one that was vintage white eyelet. Old sheets and old clothing are possible sources. Cut or tear small pieces of each fabric and arrange them any way you like. I pinched my pieces together at the bottom, then fanned them out at the top. The shape resembles a mini bouquet of flowers, like a corsage. Try different ways to fold and layer your fabric pieces.

2) Sew
Once you have your fabric arranged, stitch the pieces together using a sewing machine {just stitch right through the layers}. If you have young kids, you can let them have fun with the arranging, and you can sew the pieces together. An alternative to sewing is to tie your fabric bundle with yarn and wrap several times around the "stem" before tying the ends together.

3) Add Buttons
Buttons can be added with a needle and thread {it's good practice, but please be very careful}, or with a dot of hot glue.

4) Add A Pin Back
Pin backs can be found at most craft stores {or on the back of an old pin}. You can either sew or glue it on. I just used a safety pin, stitching it to the back of my brooch.

Other Ideas:
~ This project would make a fabulous Mother's Day present. You could add one button for every child in your family.
~ You could make this project with various papers, then staple or glue them together. A self-adhesive pin back would work great with a paper brooch.
