God's Eye
writes, "Do you remember how to make these? Teach your kids to make this quintessential summer-camp craft."
Materials:
Small sticks {we found ours in the backyard}
Yarn {in 3 or 4 different colors}

1) Tie and Cross
Lay two sticks together, side-by-side, then tie them together in the center using the end of your yarn. Once you have a secure knot, twist the sticks apart to form a cross. Wrap your yarn around the center of the cross to help keep it secure for the next step.

2) Wrap and Rotate
Wrap the yarn over & around one side of the sticks, then rotate a quarter turn to the next side and wrap the yarn over & around. Continue to wrap over & around, rotating as you go. Try to keep each wrap of yarn right next to the last wrap. You want them to be side-by-side, not wrapped on top of each other. {You can find videos demonstrating the wrapping method, and variations, on youtube.}

3) Changing Colors
When you are ready to change colors, simply cut your yarn and securely tie on a new color. Continue to wrap & rotate as you did before.

4) Tie and Hang
Once you have wrapped to your heart's content, tie the yarn around one of the sides of your cross and tie securely. Make a loop above the knot, then cut. Hang your God's Eye by the loop.

Other Ideas:
~ Make a smaller version to wear as a necklace. Tie the loop big enough to go over your head.
~ Older kids can make a tiny version using toothpicks and thread.
~ Tie one on top of a present.
~ Make a few extras to use as holiday ornaments.
