T-shirt Shopping Bag
writes, "Make this eco-friendly bag and take it with you to the store to use instead of a plastic bag. With one straight seam, it's a fantastic first sewing project. Bring your bag with you to Eagle Saturday Market."
Materials:
T-shirt
Sewing machine (or a needle & thread)
Scissors

1) Sew
Turn your t-shirt inside out and sew along the bottom, just above the bottom hem.

2) Cut
Turn your t-shirt right side out and cut off the arms, just inside the arm seams. Cut the neck to make it big enough to load. It's quick and easy to cut through the front and back at the same time.

3) Remember!
Keep your bags in the car so you will have them with you for your next trip to the store.

Ideas for use:
~ Small kids' shirts make great produce bags. Tip: A head of lettuce will stay fresher longer if you get the bag wet before storing in your crisper drawer.

~ Adult shirts make big shopping bags. Load them up & feel good about refusing plastic bags.

~ Make a commitment to reduce the number of plastic bags your family uses. How many t-shirt bags would you need for a regular grocery trip?

~ These bags would make a great present. You could make several bags, then wrap them inside another bag. Tie the handles together for a quick & easy bow.
